I was disappointed with this book, despite the good reviews. The author only gives introductions, and some of them very short ones, to various modalities for energy healing. I spent a lot of time googling the techniques she mentioned that I was not familiar with as she only mentioned the names of them in so many cases. She goes into a bit more with TCM, but her introduction was very poor and almost misleading in how complex it is, not beginning to do it or other techniques justice. She shared too much personal information and too little that was useful. The last chapter is a bit better, but still woefully simple and unhelpful. If you are looking for not much more than a list of technique names to look into, then this book will likely be of some help to you. For me, it was a waste of time as I am very familiar with some of these modalities and wanted to learn how to use them with my animals, help I didn't get. I have become a student of Joan Ranquet this book is my "bible" for all energy modalities and research. Joan has a vast knowledge when it comes to Energy Healing for animals. She translates the various techniques that are buzzed about all over the internet. This book is a way to read and learn about something that is so unbelievable. Joan shares stories of successful outcomes and I know first hand these are true and powerful healing practices. One thing this book was more than a tool and a good read it helped me become educated in so many different forms of healing and the practitioners that perform them. I could list them all yet believe it best to experience the amount of people Joan has in her toolbox that can help ALL animal companions not just through energy specifically. There are oils, diet, massage, training and more, much much more. I go back to this book for even the simplest questions "how do I get my dog to stop jumping up on me" "my horse gets very nervous when I take him across bridges"...... I can't explain how she knows the answers but you will understand how after you read this just one time.
